Adobe Systems today announced immediate availability of Adobe Contribute 4 software, the new version of the Web publishing software.
The latest version includes new blog publishing capabilities, unified Web publishing, enhanced Microsoft Office integration for Windows users, and Adobe Flash video support.
With the unified Web publishing feature, users can post and publish content to multiple Web sites and blogs, as also edit and update the same with ease. Besides, content changes are not lost whilst working offline, thanks to the browser 'Back' button.
The new software works seamlessly with Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Windows users too, can use it to post and publish content to their Web sites and blogs directly from within Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Adobe Contribute 4 enables Web designers and developers to get started with blogs in much the same way they would with Web sites. The software supports most popular blog servers, including Blogger, Typepad, and Wordpress, besides offering the option to connect to in-house blog servers straight out-of-the-box.
The new and improved version of Contribute features enhanced rich media support, providing users the ability to drag and drop not only images and movies, but also Adobe Flash video files onto their Web pages or Blog entries. While the original formatting is maintained, the source of the content plus the link are automatically posted by Contribute 4.
Speaking at the occasion, Don Walker, senior director - product marketing, Adobe, said, "We're living in an era where rapid information flow is expected. With Adobe Contribute 4, anyone with basic computer skills can easily publish updated information to the Web, offloading Web site administrators from tedious routines, and enabling professional Web site designers and developers to spend more time on creative design."
Contribute 4 is immediately available for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, through Adobe Authorized Resellers and the Adobe Store, for an estimated street price of $149 (Rs 6,854). Registered users of earlier versions can upgrade for an estimated street price of $79 (Rs 3,634).
