Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) is reportedly releasing the RoHS-compliant 945GTY-M microATX motherboard with embedded Intel 945GT Express chipset supporting the latest Intel Core Duo CPUs.

The 945GTY-M motherboard, which is Microsoft Vista-ready or Intel Viiv-capable, features PCI Express, SATAII, Hi-Speed USB 2.0, and Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics controller.

The motherboard's 945GT Express Northbridge chipset and Intel ICH7m-DH Southbridge I/O controller provide a platform that can drive a range of demanding home and business computing or entertainment solutions.

The Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics with 400 MHz core speed provides fast graphics, optimized 3D, and smooth video playback on HD displays up to 720p or 1080i resolution, without the need for an additional graphics card.

And, for users who want even higher graphics performance, a 1 x PCI Express x16 slot is provided to support the latest high performance PCIe graphics cards.

With an FSB of 667/533 MHz, the 945GTY-M supports up to 2 GB of DDR2 667 SDRAM in two slots. Hyper-Threading Technology as well as Intel Matrix Storage Technology (MST) are also featured for high levels of internal and external hard drive protection, and performance with RAID0, RAID1 configuration.

Other integrated features of the new motherboard include 1 x PCI-E x 1 slots, 2 x PCI slots, 1 x VGA, 1 x parallel port, 8 x USB 2.0, 2 x Serial ATAII (3 Gbps) for fast file transfers, high-definition 8-channel ALC883 audio CODEC, and 1 x Intel 82537L Gigabit LAN controller for fast connectivity.

The 945GTY-M's lower power consumption, efficient thermal design, quiet operation, and 2 x SATA II storage flexibility make it a great Viiv capable home entertainment PC, or everyday business or home PC platform with strong processing power and multimedia performance.
