According to reports, Nokia has announced that its upcoming phones will carry a name tag instead of the usual number tag.
According to Nokia, in future, consumers will not just see a numbering system for its models, but will also get to see names that carry a meaning and are generally significant. However, the company has not yet revealed whether all its new models will get names, or whether some will still continue to be introduced with four-digit numbers.
Interestingly, the announcement comes on the back of the runaway success of two handsets - RAZR and Chocolate from rival camps - Motorola and LG respectively. These were released earlier this year, and have since enjoyed widespread popularity.
Apparently, Nokia has also admitted that it is a little slow in emulating current market trends into its phones, although it says it is working towards that objective.

FINALLY ! Wonder why it took so long for the suits at Finland to finally warm up to the idea ... actually the N, and E series were a step in the right direction, this new move is the logical next step. NKIA KitKat phone, anyone ;-) ?
At the rate Nokia releases phones, I think it's better that they stick to a combination of names and nos. Or else, it would be a headache for the consumer to keep track of those phones that are new and those that are not. Anyway, Nokia should concentrate on improving quality of it's phones. Shocking that a Finnish company comes out with a phone with so many bugs. They spoil Europe's reputation as the place for getting quality products and have more or less become like some second rate chinese company.
