Codemasters has reportedly announced that "Brian Lara International Cricket 2007," the next edition of "Brian Lara Cricket," is releasing in March 2007, to coincide with the World Cup that will get underway the same time.
The new and improved sequel to the best-selling 2005 title, which reportedly held sway in bestseller lists for consecutive weeks, will feature content and players from the ICC World Cup, and will be available for PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and PC platforms.
The new game promises to expand the series' gameplay mechanics to deliver a thoroughly entertaining and competitive game that captures the tension, skill, and intensity of world-class international cricket.
The game will feature licensed players - world cricket stars - Andrew Flintoff, Ricky Ponting, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Brian Lara himself.
The game will include all the official teams, stadia, kits, and equipment of the ICC Cricket World Cup, and the modes will include a fully-licensed ICC Champions' Trophy competition, One Day games, Test Matches, 20-20, and other exhibition matches. There will be an online mode for PC (LAN and online) and Xbox Live as well.
According to the publishers, enhancements include the photo-realistic visuals being created for the title, several real player likenesses modeled in high detail, etc.
The stadia comprise all eight official World Cup venues, and are being created with new levels of textured detail, as also proprietary shader technology for realistic, subtle, and changing lighting effects including time of day and weather.

I really expected BLC 2005 to be a real entertainer. But it did not live up to my expectations. Cricket game on machines stayed just as boring as it could be. My old favourite EA Sports cricket 99 really had a good start. But they spoiled it. Do not concentrate on Graphic. Concentrate on Gameplay game makers!!
