Yahoo! has announced the launch of several new products on Yahoo! Finance that according to the company, expand the Web site's industry-leading suite of tools and services for investors, as also allow publishers to easily host Yahoo! Finance-branded tools and data on their sites.

These products include new stock charts, content syndication badges for distributing news and data to online publishers, enhanced financial message boards, and a news video initiative.

Peggy White, general manager, Yahoo! Finance, said, "The new stock charts on Yahoo! Finance set an industry standard for how financial data is delivered to investors on the Internet. Stock charts have historically been a relatively static offering on financial Web sites, but we have evolved our stock charts into an easy-to-use, dynamic application."

The key enhancements to stock charts include full-screen charts that offer an interactive user experience through the use of Flash and dhtml technologies; superior charting capabilities and a simple click-and-drag feature for customization; ability to type-in dates for charting a specific period of time; customizable technical analysis indicators; educational information for novice investors and students; plus one-click buttons to easily print and email customized charts.

Another new product, the Yahoo! Finance Badge, is a Web tool that allows Web sites of all sizes to publish stock charts, quotes, and news headlines from Yahoo! Finance, free-of-charge. The company says the tool can be set-up, customized, and published within minutes. Publishers need to complete a three-step sign-up process to receive code, which is then cut-and-pasted onto their Web sites or blog posts.

Yahoo! says Yahoo! Finance is the first publisher to syndicate financial tools and data, without requiring paperwork or distribution fees from every publisher. The ability to distribute tools and data apparently stems from the development of a new stock ticker platform, in which Yahoo! Finance receives market data directly from leading stock exchanges including NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX.

One more product is an enhanced version of Yahoo! stock message boards that promises to empower the community with the ability to decide which content is most relevant and valuable. Individual messages can be rated on the basis of quality of the post, after which overall community ratings can be used to sort and filter messages to get the preferred quality. Messages can be further grouped topic-wise.

Yet another initiative from Yahoo! is the launch of a news video initiative that promises to aggregate business news clips from a host of leading news providers.
