Fujifilm has announced two new point-and-shoot digital cameras - the FinePix S6000fd and the FinePix F20.

The 6-megapixel S6000fd has a zoom that offers a 28 to 300 mm optical zoom range (35-mm equivalent), which works out to around 10.7X optical zoom. Besides this, the camera features a Face Detection technology, which allows the camera to pinpoint faces and focuses accordingly. The company claims that this will assist the camera in setting the correct exposure for the scene.

Other features include a 2.5-inch LCD, image stabilization, a top ISO setting of 3200, and i-Flash or intelligent flash system technology. It will also include the Dual shot mode, which takes two pictures in quick succession, one with flash and the other without flash.

The other digital camera, the 6.3-megapixel FinePix F20, includes 3.0x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD, picture stabilization, and has a high ISO setting of 2000, which means it can capture a high level of detail in low light without the need for a flash.

FinePix F20 also keeps some of the same features found on the higher-end camera F30, including the i-Flash technology and the Dual Shot mode. Other features include black-and-white shooting mode, approximately 30 shooting modes and scene settings, flash modes including slow synch, and multi, spot, and average TTL metering.

Moreover, both cameras incorporate Fuji's Super CCD HR sensor, Real Photo Technology, and store images on xD media cards.

The FinePix F20 will be available in August this year at a suggested list price of $299.95, and the FinePix S6000fd will be available in September this year at an expected price of $499.95. The local pricing is not known yet.

Hi! When will these cameras be available in India? In New Delhi, Fuji cameras are not available in common market, like canon and kodak. Where can one buy Fuji digicam in New Delhi? I also wonder if they have any sevice center in Delhi/ India? If any fuji digicam user can comment on the service center issue, i shall be grateful. Thanks.
