Why has Plantronics concentrated only on Headsets all these years? Plantronics is a very focused company, and we believe in being the best in what we do. The headset market, where Plantronics has been a leader, has not been completely explored. There is a lot of scope for further exploration, experimentation, etc.
How has the journey in this country been for you? We started-off with designs suitable-for-use by airline pilots, and today, our headsets have gone main-stream. Our present product range suits the needs of diverse consumer segments. In the office space, Plantronics is leading a wireless revolution of sorts - with products that deliver unprecedented freedom and mobility to take conversations further.
It was in the mid-60s, when the Federal Aviation Agency selected Plantronics as the sole supplier of headsets for air traffic controllers, a privilege Plantronics holds till date. The next milestone for the company came when it was selected to supply headsets to operators of the Bell Telephone Company.
How has Plantronics fared in the end-consumer market? Some of out latest innovations in this space have done amazingly well. For instance, Voyager 510, Pulsar 590A, Discovery 640, and Explorer 320 have gone down very well with techno-enthusiasts and fashion-conscious consumers alike.
