Satyam Ties with Dubai Municipality

According to reports, Satyam Computer Services will execute a complete infrastructure life-cycle management (ILM) solution for the engineering departments of Dubai Municipality (DM).
The solution promises to help DM better its communication and relationships with clients and vendors. Satyam, along with the support of the DM management and technical team will help DM solve several administrative and technology problems. For example, it will make sure that consultants and contractors are paid on time, and that material approvals occur in a suitable manner.
Satyam's solution will also enable employees to access ad hoc reports and online information regarding the status of DM's many large-scale projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Yousif Shams, head - systems development, Dubai Municipality, said, "The ILM solution will consolidate all project activities, and will allow effective life-cycle management of all our projects. The solution will help DM streamline its operations, and improve its relationships with trading partners".
"Satyam has demonstrated an exceptional track record in implementing technology solutions in the region, and we are happy to have partnered with them for our business need," Shams said.
Virender Aggarwal, director and senior vice president - Satyam (Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa), said, "Although the solution is complex, the benefits it will derive are quite simple; the Municipality will become a better business partner with its customers and suppliers, and thus enjoy better business relations with them".

Satyam's solution will perform critical functions, including analyzing existing DM processes; delivering specifications for various functions; project planning; providing end-user training; etc.
After implementation, a single tool will enable DM engineering department users to manage the entire project life-cycle, including, planning, budgeting, design, scheduling, procurement, construction, maintenance, etc.
The tool will also allow users to monitor project progress, and manage project cash flow much more effectively. Moreover, it will deliver the much-needed business intelligence to the entire portfolio of projects and programs.
