Microsoft India has announced the availability of the Beta 2 version of both Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office System.
The announcement marks a significant milestone in the development process of these offerings, as it allows the broad customer and partner community to test the product features and provide feedback before the final version of the product is launched.
These offerings represent Microsoft's Gen-Next platform for business computing needs, and are expected to be available in the last quarter of 2006.
In a statement, Neelam Dhawan, managing director, Microsoft India, said that Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office System would help businesses become people-ready, and allow them to leverage their most important assets for business success both today and in the future.
With the availability of the 2007 Microsoft Office System, Microsoft India has rolled out a host of customer accessibility programs targeted at diverse customer segments including the Rapid Deployment Program, the Momentum Program, the MSDN Beta Experience Program, the ISV Ascend Program, and the SI Partner Solution Series Program.
The Windows Vista Beta 2 is immediately available for MSDN and TechNet subscribers, as well as Technology Adoption Program (TAP) and TechBeta members.
In the coming weeks, Microsoft will also broadly release a Customer Preview Program build-up of Windows Vista, inviting consumer tech enthusiasts to download the new OS, and begin testing the various consumer scenarios.
Meanwhile, with these offerings, Microsoft aims to help businesses empower their people to manage waves of information and contribute to bottom-line success in four key areas that include simplifying how people work together; better content protection and management; finding information and improving business insight; and reducing security risks and deployment costs.
Isnt it awesome how they dont really talk about any improvements, but only refer to "reducing security risks, improving business insight ......"
Microsoft is done for,
they are just adding lines of code and not really doing anything,
Google is working on Writely, they are going to take out their own version of Microsoft Word soon, and then...
