iRishta.com has launched a full featured, free, Indian matrimonial and
relationship site, a move that is sure to shake up the Indian Matrimonial Website arena.

iRishta.com was created three years ago, to meet the needs of South Asians looking to meet someone. Reportedly, it has grown since to become one of the largest South Asian relationship sites on the Web today. The new matrimonial Website aims to take a major market share away from existing paid matrimonial sites, offering a full range of features and services.

The iRishta.com spokesperson said, "Existing matrimonial sites have continued to raise their membership prices, while offering little additional value to their customers. We think that once Indians realize that there is a viable alternative to paying for what amounts to little more than a high priced messaging service, they will abandon these paid sites and migrate to free matrimonial sites like iRishta.com. The combination of high-end features and no membership fees offers an unbeatable value to our members."

iRishta.com is based on industry leading technology that features a sophisticated audio and video chat platform. Users have the ability to set message filters to only receive messages from members that match their criteria; to send and receive contact requests and private messages; to password-protect their pictures; and to view members that last viewed their profiles.

iRishta.com will also maintain the quality of its membership. All profiles will be screened by iRishta.com, before they are approved and made available on the Website.

The spokesperson for the company explained that "Rishta" means relationship, and that strong relationships are the foundation of a good marriage. Rather than preventing people from contacting each other like the paid matrimonial sites do, iRishta believes in allowing people to communicate with each other, thereby developing strong relationships.

iRishta.com's matrimonial services are available free-of-cost to various communities and religions including Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Maharashtran, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians.

The Website will promote its services both within the country and to the Asian community in the UK, USA, Canada, UAE, and Europe.

It is a commendable thing that you are giving free matrimonial service to the Indian people whereas all other site owners are gradually increasing the charges every quarter. I have a suggestion - If the profiles are language,state-religion & caste-wise, it will be very useful to search and find out the right match. Especially, in Kerala, the matching of horoscopes are must for marriage. So there should be a colum in our site for stars which are matching to the profile. Likewise exact qualification, income of the other party etc. It will help selection easily.
