Asus India today unveiled its new notebook, the W3J, at a Digital Lifestyle event held in Bangalore. W3J is Asus' second product in the wide-screen category in the Indian market. The product is equipped with Intel's latest Core Duo technology.
According to company sources, the W3J notebook is the perfect answer to the needs of gamers who want to experience gaming along with portability. The new notebook is also targeted towards business users who would like to view larger spreadsheets, enhanced presentation files, etc.
The W3J notebook weighs around two kg, and comes with the following configuration: Intel Core Duo Processor T2300/T2400/T2500/T2600 1.60GHz to 2.16GHz, 2MB On Die L2 Cache, 667 MHz; Mobile Intel 945 PM Express Chipset, DDR2 533/667 MHz DRAM, 2x SO-DIMM socket expandable to 2GB; 14-inch WXGA (1280x768) LCD Color Shine (glare-type); Asus Splendid Video Intelligent Technology; and ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 256MB, 60/80/100/120 GB supported.
The new notebook sports additional features such as a 14-inch widescreen gateway to the world of entertainment, dual engines, cinematic graphics display, audio deliverance, latest 3D processing power, triple speed connection with wireless freedom, swappable bay-hot swap, etc.
The notebook packages along with it a two-year limited global hardware warranty and a one-year battery pack warranty.
According to Richard Chen, product manager - notebook business, Asus India, "The W3J with its exhilarating capabilities and award-winning design will deliver performance beyond notebook users' expectations. The wide-screen notebooks are gaining popularity all over the world; hence this model is introduced in the country."
The W3J comes with supplied accessories including the wireless mouse and carrying bag. The product is priced at Rs 77,499 plus taxes in the domestic market.

Is it the asus w3j is available in Malaysia? when the Malaysia will import this product if not available? because other country had it for half an year already.
Each and every laptop mfr. seems to be interested in niche products like 80k notebooks- god U guys, you do not do any market research , emply professionals to do this & read the market i think we indians need centrino M notebooks in to retail at 35k- or celeron M for 25k- produce & sell by hundreds of thousands why bother with expensive laptops at 80k & sell only a few ??
I agree with his comments. What Indians need has been spelt out by him. Will the manufacturers heed to this and bring a revolution in the spread of notebooks? Let us wait andsee.
