Nokia has launched its M-Blog, which according to the company enables consumers to "share their world, with the world".

The M-Blog is an application which promises to allow users share their thoughts/ideas/experiences/pictures with the world - almost instantaneously. Pictures can be directly posted onto the M-Blog and buddies can be invited to view the blog directly from their multimedia devices.

While Blogging looks set to become the "next big thing" on the Internet, the increasing popularity of mobile photography demands that people are able to share their priceless moments with one and all, directly from their mobile multimedia devices. This, plus the added attraction of wanting to create one's very own online photo blog has spurred Nokia to come up with this new application.

Specially optimized for Nokia's Nseries of high-performance mobile multimedia computers, M-Blog is designed to function as a sort of personal diary that can be updated time-and-again by Nseries users. The total number of bloggers world-wide is around 500,000. M-Blog would prove to be a useful application for them.

Nokia says the M-Blog is particularly useful for picture blogging - the idea being that whether you are atop the Petronas Towers in Malaysia or at your pet local hang-out, you don t have to wait till you get back to your desktop for sharing those amazing visuals with the rest of the world.

M-Blog simply requires a multimedia device with a GPRS/Internet subscription from the user's mobile service provider.

Shyam Sundar, business manager - imaging solutions, Nokia India, said, "Mobile Blogging will provide users the freedom of sharing their World at anytime from anywhere. Nokia s new M-Blog application will not just enable bloggers to share their moments instantly, but will also open up a whole new paradigm to the blog universe. It s no more just shoot-show-throw with Nokia M-Blog, we are providing consumers an exciting mode of sharing their world, with the world."

I tried installing it on my 6630 and it works like a charm - although officially only N Series phones are supported. The only problem is that there is no permanent URL for the blog that you create

trust me m blog is classy. . .the download is free and works on any series 60 phone. . .i have bpl and for 50 buks i get unlimited data so no problems there. . . and the m blog interface is pretty gud. . .the only problem is that u can only upload 5 pics at a time. .

nice but GPRS! man i need to get one connection and pay to blog! forget it people like me wont waste time and MONEY on that piece of innovation. wel all-in-all its a nice move for more publicity, now that sony erricson is getting some cell phone which are selling like hot cakes and that undoubtedly is for a reason.
