    Symantec Corp has launched its online consumer store in the country, for customers to be able to access online purchase and support services 24x7.

In keeping with its global tradition Symantec Corp has launched its online consumer store in the country, which according to the company is tailormade to suit local needs.

With the opening of this online store, customers will be able to easily download localised versions of Symantec's Internet security software solutions such as Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall and Norton SystemWorks.

Customers will be able to access online purchase and support services 24x7, simply by going to http://sa.symantecstore.com and selecting the Indian Rupee tab. The payment gateway for the store is managed by DigitalRiver.

This is Symantec's 24th such store globally, with multi-lingual sites already panning across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, and Asia Pacific - each allowing customers to purchase Symantec products in the local currency.

Annette Martis, sales manager - consumer and small business solutions, Symantec Corp, said, "Recent threats such as the Kamasutra virus have made everyone from large organisations to individuals and small businesses all too aware of the need for reliable Internet security solutions. With the new online store, we are providing customers with a simple and easy way to purchase the latest Norton products and upgrades to ensure a safe and secure Internet experience."

As part of its marketing initiative, Symantec is offering an Easter discount of up to 25 percent on Norton Internet Security. As such, this particular product can be bought online for Rs 2,499 till April 16, 2006.
