Charging a phone is going to be a breeze, literally.
Some wise man once said - Necessity is the mother of Invention. Well, no doubt about that. Every mobile phone is accompanied by a charger because we all know that a mobile phone with a drained battery is a worthless toy. But what good is a charger if there's no electricity point to plug it into? And how often do we find ourselves in this situation when the cell phone runs out of battery in the middle of a conversation and there is no place to charge it? This problem might be a thing of the past thanks to one Mr. N. V. Satyanarayana who is in the process of developing a charging device that uses wind to charge the phone.
The Micro Windmill Mobile charger has a 5 cm (radius) fan that is connected to a small generator which is able to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy and eventually power the device connected to it. Interesting concept, and if implemented successfully, it can prove more than handy in lot of fields. The device is still under development but if and when it is commercially available, charging a phone is going to be a breeze... literally.
sir,i m doing mechanical engg.....i would like to make a mobile charger by using windmill mechanism so i want to the circuit diagram ..................
I am an Mechanical Engineer, my vision is a great india which can stand on itself without any help.renewable energy is one such thing which can sustain us in the future. The day this charger is available in the market, plz kindly make sure to mail me, since i want to market this concept to the 90% ignorant population of India
sir,
by using a 12V motor we cant produce the necessary voltage and amperes for charging the mobile phone battery.can you specify the type of motor you used.
sir
i am 3rd year student. i liked your this innovation and i would like to do this as a mini project.can u sent me more details on the control circuit and other details.please sir, please

sir iam an engineering third year student and iam much interested in this project.i would like to this one as my project so wil you please mail me the necessary details and circuitry of this project.i will be greately obliged to you if you will reply me soon.thanking you sir.
There is lot of scope for micro & Mini wind mill in the range of 500 to 2500Watts. I have a lot of orders. Please let me know the details of manufacurers ASAP
Is the product already in launch phase? Imay need a bit bigger capacity windmill say of about 100 watts whcih can power my wimax hub fro uninterrupted internet connection.
VERY SORRY SIR THIS IS NOT YOUR ORIGNAL INVANTION MY STUDENT OF CLASS 9 IS ALSO MADE THID TYPE MOBILE CHARGER 2 YEARS AGO AND SHOW IN STATE LEVEL SCIENCE FAIR MY STUDENT ALSO MADE MOBILE CHAGER BY SHOES BATTERY CHARGE BY WALKING OF ANY BODY BY ON WAIGHT
hi, mr soni, i am interested in the product details as my child is studying in 5th who wants to do the same for his science exhibition. plz let me know the detailed procedure of making of wind & other chargers made by ur student.
thx, awaiting for ur favourable reply.
Hi Shrikant,
I think you can try with any fan in hair dryer which is a turbine itself. Take it because it has its own fitted fan with it. In wind it will rotate and generate the power. I have not done it myself but logically I feel it will generate power, how much? I don't know. You can check the power output. This is just a random idea.
should place a 6v battery as a bridge between. and to maintain 6v output and 125 mili amp current as a standard charger. will neet to increase radius of wind mill
Really it is a excellent indea. SIR Best of Luck to you. You can do it sir,I m also intrested to develop water pumping windmills esp for Indian farmers.
the idea is good, but less effective as it has moving part fan like blades & generator which can't work without wind flow. one can't put his phone outside his house for the wind. But if u use small solar cells it is very useul. I have some good ideas about the design & configerations aboput solar chargers.
hi vasant ,we want to know more about solar chargers used for instant mobile charging for travelling.we r ready 2 help u if u r ready to made it r if u already designed it
We have solar mobile charger. nice to hear as work going on for wind mobile charger. please contact if you find we may come in any kind of help or work togeather.
It is sincerely hoped that the technology must be developed to brighten our homes with the lights working with micro volts, which shll enable the this wonderful world of ours to become a real heaven.
Those days may not be far away.
with great regards
Its an extremly superb invention, considering our todays need for saving electricity.however the device could be quiet sucessful if its made a bit portable and some imrovements are made to its design.
Superb invention, Wen wil it be available in the market? Will it be able to charge any model like Nokia, Samsung etc...? & wat will be the approximate cost ?Kindly give me the details of the above asked
Sounds interesting! But I doubt if such a MicroMini Charger would be able to generate enough power to charge a mobile. Anyways, any idea how much time would be required to charge. I guess it must be pretty long considering the size of the Windmill.

Why dont you also use the same idea to develop a wind powered LED torch!! similar to the torches on mobiles!! could be a hit in rural india!! what say?
I feel this is something a thought of future wonderful device for the mobile users . definately i would love to have one as soon as it comes to the market thnks a lot to mr satyanarayana for wonderful device
Sure this will go a long way in improving the (sum of the parts) that go into it, because you never know, you will get that input you are seeking.

This is a really good invention. i highly recommend that Mr. Satyanarayana patent his invention. orelse we will have chinese imports in no time.

I remember seeing some hand cranked mobile phone chagers in Bangalore's "S.P Road" sometime back.....but they are no more now......as the shop keeper who used to deal with those said..."People feel embarassed to crank in public!!"
In the car Sanket...you already have a cigerette lighter plug....moreover you are paying for the gas...so it does not matter you can always charge your phone through it.....But I think this "Invention" really comes in handy in Trains and busses! unless the Govt. provide charging sockets in these modes of public transport...What say? The ultimate uses of this is with trekkers.....ofcourse if they are in the network area.... : )
It is better if Mr.Satyanarayana reveal the technology after it is fully developed and released. Otherwise, dont be surprised, if you see this product in the market manufactured in China within next few days !!!!beforfe he thinks of finding a manufacturer or marketing!!!
That is a good though Mr sharma. I think this would be a cost effective way. You cannot get much energy with windmill like stuff. solar energy is of course available in plenty
Solar Charger for Mobile Phones are already available, http://www.hungtek.com/sdp/227779/4/pd-1028314/1258634-515555.html; http://www.solarenergyalliance.com/mobile.htm
Doc....you can try that....get some scrap/broken cells from junk and wire them for around 5V and off you go!! But the surface area behind the phone say Nokia 1100 is not sufficient for currents as high as 500mA but nothing to complain.....it might take a long time to charge but.....it does the job. Make sure you laminate the photovoltaic cells properly.
Good work....although these things are tried before by people....How about one with a solar panel and wind power Combo?? that way during the day one need not wait for the wind to blow.
Already Car kits are available. This would work wonders when people travel in public transport, as well, as one of the tech tree reader said, when on bikes (I like your idea of placing the fan on top of the helmet). Will this happen to be a reality? or will it become another Ramar Petrol???
You idiot Farrukh...there is a vast difference between bio-diesel and Ramar Petrol. Ramar claimed to create petrol from water which is bullshit...bio-diesel is creation of fuels from organic sources which is very much possible.
If Ramar petrol was a reality, why did not reliance pick him up? Are indians such fools to still keep thinking about the petroleum pipeline?
Bio-Diesel is extracted from Jetropha a plant which will be grown for this...
Dear Sir, Please let me know the details of the procudt, Its Power generating capacity and cost if the device. Also let mne now if u can provide a sample.
It is a very useful quipment in India. Since we are fighting against energy shrtage. If introduced with proper pricing policy it will sure hit the market. All Indians should proud of windmill. It is useful to are nation also where there is often power failure and loadshading.
Mr Condescending Jayraj, Since the zero concept developed by an Indo Arab JV, Riyadh was in the forefront of R&D and the Indians .... well they have finally given the world a windmill to power a mobile!
This is a good idea. If this can work effectivily then it will be a hit in the market. prodcut like this are what people are looking. Price too a factor
Please let me know the cost of the product & delivery charges to have it shipped to Kolkata.
I wish to contribute to the immense potential of this product by being the first customer.
Micro windmill to charge a mobile phone is a good idea. It will be useful in places where you can't plug into the mains outlet and where you are getting a steady breeze like when you are travelling in a train (not in an AC coach!) or when you are sitting in the beach. If there is no breeze, you are out of luck. A different idea is to use a spring operated winding mechanism; when the spring is fully wound, the wheel rotates for 15 or 20 minutes and in the process generates power to charge the mobile battery. This can be the next project for Mr. Satayanarayana!
Here is the guy who created this -

Do watch the video too.
Thank and Regards,
Ashish I. Agrawal.
But what will be the output of this device? Or, in common parlance how long it will take to charge a mobile battery? Anyway, great stride - congrats, Keep it up.
Great work Mr. NVS My sincier suggestion to you to give some fixture(flexible) which any one can mount on either 2 wheeler or any other vehile with sufficient length of wire to reach mobile kept in pocket. also think of developing Fixture which one can put on table and due to wind the fan will rotate , Kindly make it very easy and highly economical so that even a worker (woking on daily wages) can use it. Best luck
Narayana Narayana
where can i contact the person who made this. its really excellant work on this front. I have to thank him for this work & give him a pat on his shoulder.
Ideal for charging your mobile when you are riding a bike!! Just attach the 'windmill' to the top of your helmet! Will make you look pretty as well.. :-)
