The country's first mall dedicated only to IT and aptly called IT Mall is being set up in Bangalore and is already attracting the city's crowd of IT businessmen and customers alike. The Mall is huge, classy and is in the heart of the city city, near M. G. road on Brigade road.
The Mall features 64 shops spread out across 19,000 sq ft area, is centrally air-conditioned with 100 percent power back-up, has basement parking and an 11 cuisine food mall on the top floor. What's new is that all 64 shops will have all that you can think of, when it comes to computers and peripherals.
Haresh Doshi, director, Sound Shelters, and one of the owners of IT Mall says, "The IT Mall is so called because it will have nothing else but IT products. It's been a dream project for us. When we first called in for bookings of the shops, we got tremendous response. But we have been very careful in selecting the dealers and companies. We have done a thorough market survey, to understand the credibility of the dealer and genuineness of the company. Dealers dealing with any grey market products have been clearly demarcated and excluded. The intention is to make original and branded IT products available to the customers, all under one-roof. The aim is to make the products available the very day the company launches it in the market."
The IT Mall has on offer computer consumables, peripherals, spares, accessories, stationary, etc., along with laptops, branded PCs, original software and CDs.
R. Sridar, Triangle Technologies (one of the shops in IT Mall), said, "What works more often with our people is the 'time and place concept'. You want something and you get it then and there, what you have to pay hardly matters then, if you know if you know there is not a big price difference. Thus when a person thinks of buying a spare or a peripheral for his home PC and the need is immediate, he usually gets cheated without his knowledge as the shop he walks into, may be one of its kind in the area and he is in no mood to compare rates at that moment."
"No one goes to SP road (the hub of IT products in Bangalore) for every small need. Thus the IT Mall is going to give a total new dimension to IT shopping and now customers can walk into one Mall, where they will not only find all their IT requirements but also all the brands and that too at a competitive rate", Sridhar said.
The IT Mall is still under work when it comes to interiors for each shop, but the crowd coming in everyday proves the way Bangalorians have already received this venture. The Mall is due for an official inauguration in the coming month.
Sound Shelters Pvt. Ltd director Haresh Doshi is fraud.
He cheats vendors and disappears when it comes to refund the deposirted money.
any vendor or anyone leasing this premises be careful.
I never goto to MG road...no parking...visit MG Road only on Dire need. Have been in Bangalore for last 5 years but visit to MG road was not more than 10 times maybe. It would be better off if it was located some where else.
it is on Rest house road, off brigade road. From M.G.Road coming towards Main Brigade road on 2nd right 4th building.Pl.visit our website www.itmall.org to know the route map
Some One in India needs to have a IT Mall online too, where tens of millions of Indians can buy IT products cheap online- a la US providers like Newegg, Zipzoomfly etc. ( Not eBAY, TOO MAY crooks, and too expensive!! )
Sure!! Discount Stores (Online) like ecost.com & zipzoomfly.com are really needed in India. People will get newer stuff easily especially from smaller cities with no decent shops selling good hardware & no software!!
Bollocks. We're in the stone age in comparison, and build your own PC type programs promoted by Samsung have failed miserably here, despite their marketing clout.
Give it another 10-15 years. Hah.
Dear Madam, we have left the entire basement area exclusively for the parking. While making the mall of such magnitude naturally such matters has been well thought off. Please visit our web site www.itmall.org
It will be nice to have a IT Mall in Chennai too... Ritchie st. has a good amount of dealers, but still one has to walk from shop to shop to find out and buy the required needs.
There is no rest house inn on 2nd left when u enter brigade road from mg road & i think u were trying to tell from that end not from residency road so be right when u give directions
A similar IT mall (with all IT stuff including conumer electronics items too) but with a much bigger area is being setup at goregaon ( S.V road), mumbai.
Excellent idea! Haresh, Congrats for being the 1st. Indian to conceptulise the idea of IT Mall. It will turn out to be the most utility value Mall. Haresh Doshi should replicate the super-duper idea not only in other cities of India but also world over. Best Wishes!! Almighty will take care of the rest!!!
Good, at a price though. The prices, I think, will be costlier than SProad. And man! think of going to MG Road. So much of traffic.. Not that the dirty sproad is better..
