Even though it's a worthy competitor in the home printer segment (inkjet and laser), Canon has just not been able to penetrate the Indian market with its world-class products. When it comes to the MFDs, their presence is there, but not widespread. This MFD from Canon is meant ideally for the home user giving the features of printing, scanning and copying images and documents.
Package
Very huge in looks and encased in a plastic mould, the MPC 190 comes with a power cable and the necessary software CD. Strangely, the USB cable comes as a separate buy than with the package. The overall build quality is quite heavy for an MFD today and takes up a lot desktop space. It has a front plastic door to protect the cartridges from dust and alerts you when opened. It features a small monochrome screen to display the Menu that features options like preset ratio, paper type, ink volume, color density, maintenance tools (head cleaning, nozzle check), ink volume, special copy and few more. This is very useful if you don't want to use the software to perform the same functions. Other buttons include the Scan, Copy in color or B&W. The software package includes the MultiPASS Suite, OmniPage SE, Easy-PhotoPrint and Easy-WebPrint.
