Features
Though this is the first phone by Motorola that's based on a Linux OS, the interface is pretty much what we've seen in previous Motorola smart phones. Using the interface for a while, if I had to use one word to describe it, it would be - Slow. Everything in the phone has a certain lag, be it browsing through the menu or using the camera, it's just slow. The most painful part, however, is using the stylus for handwriting recognition. While most PDAs have that technology pretty close to perfection, this one is just tremendously slow at it. I would only recommend the handwriting recognition as a novelty to show-off what your phone can do, besides that, stick to the software keyboard.

The A760 features an integrated CIF camera (resolution of 352 x 288 pixels), which gives pretty decent results on an average. But try using the digital zoom function and you'll unleash chunky-pixel-hell upon your pictures. On normal mode, however, the color reproduction and overall picture clarity is respectable. Video capture is borderline, the quality is just acceptable and nothing more.

The 16-chord polyphonic ringtones are a joy to hear on the A760. The sound is loud and crystal clear. The phone also supports MP3 and WAV files as ringtones, but there's always a lag between receiving a call and the phone actually playing the song as a ringer. If you were planning to use this feature I would recommend cutting and re-encoding your MP3s so that there isn't much of a load on the processor every time you receive a call.
