Camera phones are getting tremendously mass-market these days. For some, having a camera on your phone is a necessity rather than an added bonus. Be a hobbyist, a budding photographer or even a voyeur, once you have a camera on your phone, chances are you'll never revert to a phone without a camera.
Along with features the resolution of phone cameras are constantly increasing. Nokia's 7610 brings a 1 MP camera to your phone and recently Casio introduced the A5406CA, a phone with an in-built 3.2 MP camera. The possibilities and potentials are increasing by the minute. Now during a time like this would a phone camera that shoots at a mere 352 x 288 pixels suffice? At a budge price it just might.
You wouldn't be too far from the real scenario if you think of the Nokia 6220 as the next step from the infamous 7250i. It's a candy bar-sized phone with a little camera at the back that's capable of shooting pictures and videos. But is it really worth the upgrade? Let's find out.

Looks
At first glance, the Nokia 6220 looks like an upgraded 6610, but when you get down to use it, you can see how much better it is. At 107 x 45 x 19 mm in size and 92 g in weight, it's of a standard size - easy to carry around and convenient for single-handed operation. Personally I loved the tight and sturdy feel of the phone, unlike some of the older models that always felt a bit loose and creaky.
The keypad on the 6220 is not only great to look at; it feels even more amazing to type on. The soft keys are extremely responsive making the usually tedious process of typing SMS messages very easy.
The LCD display is where the phone falls back by a bit as it displays only 4096 colors. Considering that most modern phones within a similar price line are capable of displaying at least 64,000 colors, this will be considered as a negative point by many. Still, the display is as crisp as ever and it would never give you a chance to complain.
