BPL Mobile launches Caller Ring Back Tone service for its users

BPL Mobile becomes the first service provider in India to launch Caller Ring Back Tone (CRBT) service for its users. Through this service, BPL Mobile users can now configure what a caller will hear during interconnection instead of the monotonous conventional tone.
Based on ISUP-IN technology, the CRBT service allows the users to assign ring back tones in the form of a normal ring tone, a celebrity voice, music clips, sound effects, jokes, news, personal voice etc. Both prepaid and post-paid BPL Mobile subscribers can avail this service.
Through CRBT, users can preset a specific ringtone, which will get activated on a particular date or at a particular time. Besides this, users can also personalize different ring back tones for different callers, for different periods of time for different dates.
The BPL users at Mumbai will be facilitated with this service via BPL Mobile's 2.5G-enabled SR 9.1 network. To activate this service, users need to call 666 from their BPL mobile enabled handsets for which they will be charged monthly.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Krishna Angara, Exec., VP-Business Operations, BPL Mobile said, "Traditionally, ring back tones were fixed by the service provider and consisted of uninteresting ringing or beeping sounds. Now, with CRBT we present our subscribers the newest trend in cell phone personalization."
BPL Mobile is likely to market CRBT services where corporate clients can advertise in audio mode. Besides this, with the launch of CRBT, BPL Mobile is also planning to soon launch Push-to-talk services for its users.
