One thing that always put me off about smart phones was their massive size. They somehow ended up looking like PDAs rather than a mobile communication tool. There were times I was embarrassed using a Nokia 3350 in public, since I knew how ridiculous it looked sticking that giant thing on my face. I knew that eventually technology will get smarter and there would be a phone that would be perfect in size, usability and features. After using the Nokia 6600, I can safely say we're heading in the right direction.
The Looks
At 108.6 x 58.2 x 23.7 mm it's definitely not as small as I would like it to be, but it surely is a contender for the smallest smart phone in the market. Surprisingly it weighs only 125 g, which makes it quite convenient to carry around in one's trouser pocket. The 176 x 208 pixel screen looks gorgeous and extremely comfortable to the eyes with its 65,536 color display.

One part where most smart phones tend to disappoint me is with the keypad. The Nokia 7650 was a pain with its stiff keys and sliding keypad, and I still can't figure out what the phone designers at Nokia were smoking when they designed Nokia 3650's circular keypad. Thankfully, Nokia has mended its ways and given us a simple and very effective keypad on this one. Though the keypad is quite effective for most uses, typing quick SMS messages may require a bit of practice and stamina, as the buttons are not exactly 'feather touch'. The blue keypad backlight is easy on the eyes and illuminates the phone to the right extent.
The side keys do take a little while to get used to but it's not a problem after a day of normal usage. The joystick seems sturdy and comfortable for short-term use, but was a bit too stiff if you're planning to play a game with it for a long time.
Though this phone may still be a bit too bulky for many people, it is still one of the most effective designs I have come across on a smart phone.
