    Seagate's SMS-based customer care service will allow users to access its support service via mobile phones.

Seagate has launched an SMS based customer care service, allowing users to access its support service via mobile phones.

Seagate Technology, the supplier of hard disc drives, has introduced an SMS Customer Care service which will allow customers to avail of the company's support services via SMS messaging.

The support service can be accessed through any operator by sending an SMS starting with 'Seagate' to the company's support service's short-code 7886. This will allow the user to check the exact warranty coverage of the disc drive, based on the drive's serial number. Additionally, the user can also receive the contact information for the nearest SeaCare Center or other Seagate help services like the national toll free number for Seagate support.

Sharad Srivastava, country manager, Seagate - India, said, "With Seagate becoming an increasingly popular consumer brand, we believe it would be of tremendous value to our customers to be able to check the status of their product warranty as well as access additional customer service options via their mobile phone."

"We are continually exploring new ways to delight our customers, and this is just the latest example of our commitment to them, " said Srivastava.

Seagate has also introduced courier service for warranty replacement drives with its outstation Seagate Premier Partners (Premier Partners in cities where SeaCare Center service is not available).

Previously, only the Chennai center was equipped to accept warranty replacement drives by courier.

sea care centre bangalore has the rudest possible staff. they made me run around as though i had gone to a government office. it is quite disappointing to see a company of seagate's standard having such low grade service center

i purchased seagate free agent hard disk one year before,now i am unable to connect to pc..it is showing error message usb not recognised .....then i taken my hard disk to accel fronline in vishakapatnam..they are saying that we will replace the disc but we will not recover your data....it contains 700gb data how can i loose....is there any solution ....

dear sir, i want to install windows 7 in Seagate Expansin 500 gb external harddisk.but this error coming in installation process.windows cannot be installed to the disk.this computers hardware may not ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computersbios menu..please send me the solution.

It is almost impossible to understand the problem without knowing your exact computer configuration. You can try resetting your computer BIOS to the Default or Fail-safe setting and try again. If that doesn't help, then you must contact your computer technician.
