Promises to deliver a faster and unified search experience.
Google has updated its search app for smartphones running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or higher. According to the changelog, the update brings better features and performance improvements to the table. The updated app will group the search results by categories. Users will also be able to clear search history with a simple long press. It will offer support for country-specific domains that will provide region-based suggestions. What's more, you can search for terms within the apps already installed on your device.
The latest version of the app is available for both the tablets and smartphones and can be downloaded here.
I hope the developers are reading the comments posted in Android Market about this update. The changes have introduced a lot of problems. It's the first time I've uninstalled updates to an app (force close, Search button not working any more, overall harder to use).
