Epson has introduced the ME Office 535, touted to be the world's smallest all-in-one printer, in India. With a very small footprint, the inkjet device claims to be environmentally friendly as well with a low cost per page of printing, as denoted by the ME in its name, meaning "Max Economy". While the Office series is primarily targeted at businesses, the low initial cost of investment and also the claimed low cost of operation of this device makes it ideal even for home users.
Nicknamed by the company as the "small-in-one", the ME Office 535 claims to occupy 39% less space than its predecessor while performing just as well. It can print to A4 paper at a print resolution of 5760x1440 dpi. It comes with four individual colour ink dye cartridges to economise printing because you only have to change the cartridge that becomes depleted, unlike with tri-colour cartridges. The water-resistant DURABrite Ultra ink claims to last longer than ordinary ink.
The device also has a slanting control panel with a colour 1.44" LCD display to help navigate the UI and preview photos before printing directly from a memory card. A flatbed colour scanner situated at the top can scan A4 size documents at a hardware resolution of 1200x2400 dpi and allows for PC-free copying via dedicated colour and mono copy buttons. The company also bundles a decent photo editing software along with the product. The Epson ME Office 535 is priced at Rs 6000 and backed by a 1-year warranty.
