Cosplay used to promote Assassin's Creed: Revelations in the city.
As gamers lapped up the recently-launched fourth instalment in the Assassin's Creed franchise, random shoppers at various malls in Mumbai couldn't decide whether to be terrified or just puzzled at the sight of a strange man in a hoodie. Gamers, however, would have recognised this as a poor man's cosplay (costume play) version of Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Then again, it's too premature to expect something of this order in India. The desi Ezio was busy distributing T-shirts and posters of the game at malls across Andheri and Malad. Cosplay quality notwithstanding, this is a tiny step towards gaming becoming mainstream and a bit more acceptable here in India. Check out the photos of happy mall-rats to see what I mean.
I'm very doubtful that the ladies with the kids have any idea who that guy is (or rather who he is trying to portray). I'd say they should spend a bit more in TV and other media for advertisement if they are really serious about it.
