Sony has unveiled 15 BRAVIA LED TV models in its new cutting edge line-up powered by the new X-Reality picture engine. These internet-enabled TVs let customers watch, communicate, and search the World Wide Web. Of these, 9 are Full HD 3D TVs.

Masaru Tamagawa, Managing Director, Sony India, said, "The new Sony LED TV with its unique X-Reality picture engine will redefine television viewing once again by providing the best picture quality to the customers. Not only this, BRAVIA provides complete entertainment - from instant access to online video content to the immersiveness of 3D, thus, being an integrated entertainment hub for unparalleled convenience and versatility".

The company claims that regardless of the quality of the source, the X-Reality picture engine analyses each scene pixel-by-pixel and uses sophisticated patterns to match the picture, thus ensuring enhanced contrast, fine details, and true-to-life colours in the final output. Internet features include the facility to watch streaming videos on YouTube and exclusive access to Sony Entertainment Network programming in addition to Friday Movies for quality HD films over weekends. Users can also stay in touch with their online social networking communities using in-built apps for Skype, Twitter, and Facebook. You can convert your iPhone or Android phone into a remote control for the TV using the free Media Remote app available for these devices.

The 3D models are capable of displaying Full HD 3D videos with smoother images and reduced flicker using proprietary Motionflow technology and active shutter glasses. Sony has tried to remedy the common complaint against 3D by pumping up the brightness in 3D mode using, what they call LED Boost technology. These also claim to have a wider viewing angle of 120 degrees so that viewers can get the same 3D experience even if they are not directly in front of the screen. Additionally, these TVs feature 2D to 3D up-conversion algorithm, which claims to convert any source, including live 2D television, to simulated 3D at the press of a button.
