Sony has launched a new range of 3D Blu-ray home theatre systems: BDV-E980 and BDV-E880, in addition to the Blu-ray player BDP-S380. While the first two come with four and two tallboy speakers respectively, the last one is a standalone Blu-ray player compatible with any standard HDTV.

The home theatre systems have been aesthetically designed to suit the decor of your living room by seamlessly fitting into your existing room placement. The tallboy speaker design claims to deliver a cinema-like surround sound experience in the comfort of your living room. The HTS products are enabled with BRAVIA Internet Video feature to access online content using the inbuilt Wi-Fi.

The standalone Blu-ray player supports almost every media format with support for high quality upscaling using the proprietary Precision Cinema Upscale via HDMI. Yet another interesting feature worth mentioning is the iPhone, iPad, and Android device compatibility, which lets you use such devices as a remote control using the free Media Remote app.

The BDV-E980, BDV-E880, and BDP-S380 are available at all Sony Center and major electronic outlets across India.

@Jayesh Limaye what is the (street) price of the existing sony blueray(2D) player. Earlier it was around 9000. As the new 3D capable player is priced @8990, what will be the price of the existing BDP?

Which model number are you referring to? I didn't know that Blu-ray players have become so cheap. Its time to get one.

You have not read the article properly. The Blu-ray player mentioned in this article is a 2D player and not 3D.
