The 23-incher promises to deliver colour fidelity to professionals.
ASUS has launched a new monitor in its ProArt Series - PA238Q, catering to graphics designers and other professionals. This Full HD IPS panel monitor measures diagonally at 23" and sports LED-backlighting. It is claimed to be able to reproduce 100% of the RGB colour space which means great accuracy in colour reproduction. It comes with the exclusive QuickFit Virtual Scale software to display photos and documents in their true size or even picture-in-picture, which is again something that professionals require.
Being an IPS panel-based monitor, it allows for extreme viewing angles as high as 178 degrees without any loss of colouration. Each monitor is individually calibrated, which guarantees an average delta E factor lower than 5 for faithful colour reproduction. Contrary to normal monitors using 8-bit look-up table for RGB colouration, this one has a firmware that uses a 10-bit look-up table for smoother and more accurate colour gradation and reproduction. The claimed contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1 should be able to manage a superior distinction between light and dark parts of the image.
The monitor comes with a fully adjustable sturdy stand supporting height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustments, which even allows the rotation of the monitor into portrait mode. It comes with a range of I/O options including HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI-D, D-sub, and multiple USB ports to provide for USB hub functionality.
The ASUS PA238Q ProArt Series monitor is priced at an MRP of Rs 17,600 (excluding taxes) and comes with a 3 years Zero Bright Dots Warranty. Considering the features you get, this is a steal of a deal for graphics designers and professionals in this field.
