Keyboard-mouse combo tries to attract masses with affordable pricing.
The new Wireless Companion 2 combo from Zebronics claims to have a range of nine metres. Based on the 2.4 GHz wireless technology, it eliminates delays, dropouts, and interference. The multimedia keyboard, which looks quite slim, sports 13 multimedia function keys. The mouse has an 800 dpi optical sensor, which should be good enough for normal use.
Alt Text: Zebronics Wireless Companion 2 Both the keyboard and mouse have a matt finish that looks good, but the red trim looks gaudy. The keyboard requires a single AAA battery, whereas the mouse will take two. A very small wireless USB dongle takes care of the connection aspect.
According to Zebronics, onboard Smart Power Management will help increase the combo's battery life. This sounds good, because changing batteries frequently ruins the wireless experience. Finally, the keyboard-mouse combo is priced at Rs 825. A reasonable pricing and the one-year replacement warranty leaves very little to complain about. What remains to be seen is the combo's ergonomics and build quality.
