After the resounding success of the Q55 Bling phone, Micromax Informatics Limited has launched the A55 Bling-2, which is the second model in its Bling series of phones designed for the fashion-savvy woman. True to its name, this trendy mobile phone sports a glossy finish frame made with Swarovski Zirconia and comes with a white leather carry case enclosed with a compact mirror and special pouch to keep your lip gloss, making it easy for you to retouch your makeup anytime and anywhere. Then there is also the Swarovski encrusted Home button adding a touch of style.

Apart from the glamour of the phone, it runs Android 2.2 Froyo and you can therefore install different apps from the Market to make the phone more useful. There are also built-in apps such as MiRoamer- Mobile radio, Saavn- Music on Demand, Mosho- Mobile shopping, Mundu Live TV (1 month free trial) and Whatsapp- a messenger that works across platforms (VAS) to meet the demand of today's demanding women.

On the hardware front, this phone is powered by a 600 Mhz processor and sports a 7.1 cm capacitive touchscreen. Capable of 2G as well as 3G, the phone supports quad-band GSM networks (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and WCDMA (2100 MHz) technology. It also features Mi-Fi pocket wireless internet feature, which turns the phone into your personal Wi-Fi hotspot on the move. A 3.0 Megapixel camera is also present with lens framed in Swarovski Zirconia. Phone memory can be expanded up to 32 GB with microSD memory card. Thanks to the 3.5 mm headphone jack, you can plug in any standard headphones to listen to your favourite music. The phone also features Bluetooth for wireless file transfer and audio, and GPS to aid in navigation.

Micromax Bling-2 (A55) is available at an M.O.P. of Rs.8,999, which is a bit expensive for the hardware that is included, but then it is the "bling-factor" for which you are paying the premium.

Micromax is the worst brand one can ever buy...Please do not buy it.. I have and am suffering for the same... I completely agree with Saurabh... I had the same problems with the handset and that too just after 4 days of purchasing it..And the service is even more pathetic.. the service centre returned me the handset after one and half months and that too without fixing the problem... This is so nacceptable. Micromax will have to mend its ways...before they get into serious trouble...

Hi, I don’t recommend to purchase it: With a great expectation, last week on 04-09-2011, I bought Bling 2 (A 55) phone. A normal mobile user would expect following thing if to be purchased above 6000 Rs.- Good battery backup, perfect frequency level (related to handset & not sim), clear voice reception at other end, good loudspeaker (related to music also) but to my disbelief (& dismay), my brand new mobile has problem with all these minimal user’s requirement. 1) Battery Backup is so bad that if I charged upto 100% at night 11 pm, morning 8 am it will remain below 75%. It does not even stand for a day if I talk very few minutes as a whole in the day. For your information I have closed all networks, apps & have switched to plain wallpaper (which is provided in Micromax gallery). 2) The sim is in use from more than 5 yrs & as soon as we started using it on Bling 2 phone, very often I found it not reachable. Even if the phone is lying with me & I try to connect from another same service provider phone to the phone, it went ‘NOT REACHABLE’, sorry but it is totally unacceptable to me. The phone is meant for girls only & it is very much dangerous to carry such phone which can’t be used in case of any emergency by my sister, wife or mother. 3) Loudspeaker is irritating. I can buy that FM is not working well as I already had read the reviews related to the phone but for other problems I was not prepared. 4) We have also noticed a problem- when someone hears our phone at another end, it sounds much low than I experienced from different mobiles in my life. It took few days to accept me that my phone is now a junk to me. Personally I wish to hold Bling 2 phone (look is undoubtedly very good, would like to congratulate Micromax team) but should atleast fulfill our basic requirements as mentioned above. Should note- Micromax mobile have 7 days replacement warranty as they informed to me on 10th day when I contacted them. By the way, it is not mentioned any where in manual or warranty card. ***I will definitely come back to let you all know only if my phone gets replaced (& not repaired). The details of my mobile: Purchase Date- 04/09/11, Model- A55, IMEI-911109900005049, shop name & add- Mobile Planet, Shop # G6, Savitri Market, Sec-18, Noida, Invoice # 14364. Regards, Saurabh

Did anyone else except me notice that behind all that "bling" the phone looks kind of like a Corby?

You are right, Micromax, Maxx, Spice, T-series, iBall, and a few others use the cheapest material available to manufacture phones to cut down manufacturing costs and increase profits and are no better than Chinese phones.
