    Android Handsets Specification Comparison

Find all high-end Android smartphones in one table

    mail share

The Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000 price range has suddenly become very exciting because of all the new Android phones that are pouring in thick and fast. For a prospective buyer, this is both good news as well as bad news. Good news because he now has a choice; bad news because there are too many options to choose from.

Each of these phones differs from one another by one or two features. It becomes difficult to keep track of these things and even if you use a compare engine the task becomes tedious because of the sheer number. So we decided to club all of these high-end smartphones into a table and list out all the important specifications, so that it is easy to compare. Some of these handsets are currently on sale in India, whereas others are yet to launch but worth keeping an eye out for.

Since these are just the specifications, we would advise not to make your buying decision solely based on them, but also have a hands-on with the phone or read/watch online reviews before committing to any of them.
This table is only for high-end phones but we may even come up with a similar one for mid-range and low-end Android phones too. Do let us know what you think about this chart, if it requires any additions or if you spot any errors.

Please note that we are constantly updating the image above to correct any errors or add extra parameters as we come across them. Hence, we would advise not to save the image on your computer.

Update: Click here for the comparison between low-end and mid-range Android phones.

The chart title is "Comparison between low-end and mid-range Android phones." However, the lowest price in the chart is Rs. 17189, for the Motorola Defy, so it is definitely mid-range and above. Low-end and mid-range would be say from Rs. 9,000-15,000. And since most phones don't have a price mentioned, a worthwhile comparison isn't possible. As the 'chart' is an image, one can't hide columns for a one-on-one comparison of features. Prasad has put in a lot of work but we aren't able to derive the full benefit of it.

it looks like an excel (can't open the link in office).. but if it is an excel.. why not put the spreadsheet on google docs.. so that anybody can open it any time.. do any sorting/filtering as required.. and you guys can update it as much as required. Just my two cents.

it is not an excel spreadsheet (.xls). it may have been a 'chart' when it was created but subsequently saved/converted as an image file (.jpg).

Only the initial batch of Desire handsets shipped with an AMOLED display, same as the one on Nexus One. Later on, due to display shortages, they shifted to IPS LCD or as they call it, Super LCD.

good comparison between top.smartphones.... really helped me choose my new phone.... i always thought that wasting so much money on a cell phone was not justified... but ever.since i got galaxy s wuth me my view has changed.... with the number of features on offer and the fact that its going to be with me 24 -7...i think the money i spent on that phone is totally justified...i would like to suggest people who are thinking of buying a new gadzet... spend most on a very good cell phone and then only on other gadzet

And hey Prasad, I think you're right about the Desire not having Gorilla Glass/ scratch resistant display... My friend who has one got broke his display's glass.

I appreciate the effort, but there are some things a spec sheet can never show. For example, the Galaxy S II might appear as the most technologically advanced gadget in this group, but its Touchwiz UI can never rival the Sense 3.0 UI in the HTC Sensation. That might be a deal breaker for many. As another vague example the Incredible S and the Xperia Arc might look identical in the spec sheet, but you gotta see the Arc in the flesh to believe how good looking it is. Shopping by specs in this range especially, is never a good idea.
