Launches HD Digital Video Recorder with support for 3D TV channels
Videocon d2h, the DTH arm of Videocon group, has launched India's first High Definition - Digital Video Recorder (DVR) with 3D. Now its customers can enjoy 3D content once the 3D feed is live on air.
Videocon d2h Satellite HD DVR with 3D goes a step ahead of the competition with the addition of 3D. Like most DVR, users can pause, rewind and forward live TV and record up to 200 hours. It also facilitates Auto Serial Recording. Videocon d2h service will have its own active channel for the 3D content and also channels in High Definition. Other key features include 16:9 aspect ratio, 5x digital picture quality and High Definition Digital sound. The highest video resolution supported is 1080i, at par with competition.
Customers can watch their favorite channels in HD format by subscribing to its HD feed, if available. The newly added channels in HD format are Discovery HD, NGC HD, Movies Now HD, Travel XP, HD Active Music, HD d2h Movies, Baby TV, Spacetoon, FX, Fox Crime, Big CBS Prime, Discovery Science, Discovery Turbo, NGC Wild, NGC Adventure and NGC Music. Videocon has promised more than 30 HD channels and a couple of 3D channels on the d2h platform by June 2011.
Saurabh Dhoot, director of Videocon Group said, "We will constantly strive to give consumer more than what they expect. Our High Definition Digital Video Recorder with 3D acts as a bridge between the 3D Television and the 3D Channel feed. This product will be taking your viewing experience to a new level".
Videocon has competitively priced its new HD 3D set-top boxes. The one with DVR is priced at Rs. 3,990 while the one without recording capabilities (but all other feature included) can be purchased for Rs. 2,490.
However, to enjoy this 3D service, one will need a 3D LCD/LED/Plasma TV. The announcement of this new service would be music to the ears of those who have already spent a fortune on buying a 3D TV. However, if you don't have a 3D TV, you can still reap the benefits of the HD transmission and the DVR sans 3D. The wait for 3D content may be over in less than a couple of months with the IPL semifinals and Final slated to be telecast in 3D.
Hi, We have purchased Videocon d2h(built in) LCD tv just one and a half year back. Now we
are facing problem with respect to display, 90% of the screen is showing coloured vertical
lines. At the time when it was happen there was no power fluctuation, no rain noting. when
we raised complaint regarding the same technician told there is a problem with the panel and
it costs 15000 - 16000Rs. when we asked regarding the same(price and problem) to higher
authorities they are telling just to throw the product. We have brought the TV to throw..
(looks like for them).
The only reason we went for Videocon d2h(built in) LCD tv is to encourage Indian Products.
I really suggest one and all not to go for this, even thought it looks ecpnomical its dummy.
I purchased a 3d LED TV and taken videocon d2h 3d connection few months back. Few days back i watched 3D high TV SBS on channel 999, later on it has been discontinued, why? Is there any special packaged to buy or is it yet to be launched. We wish, launch this channel early please. Please inform when will u launch this 3d tv side by side (SBS) on videocon D2H.
Couple of questions
1. Are there any 3D channels in India or expected in near future ? if not whats the use of having 3D HD feature.
2. Assuming that there will be 3D channels coming soon , How effective this 3D HD set top box on our ordinary 2D LCD TVs ? Should people be buying a 3D enabled TV too
your tv need to 3d compatible LCD, only then you can receive 3d motion pictures, 3d means 3 dimensional here the image will pop out of screen to give you ultimate experiance of viewing.
Videocon D2H is The Best option as they are growing rapidly, and serving at the best.
Even though Videocon inbuilt Satilite TV, which is also the huge sucess of Videocon..
Its disgusting that Tata Sky is broadcasting only 3 HD channels for the past 6 months and getting away with it when its competitors like dish & even videocon is airing 30 odd channels ..
is anyone aware of tata sky's plan to add more HD channels in its portfolio??
HI, Check the internet not all the 30 chaneels are Full HD but made more clear that it. Officially there were only 3 HD chaneels that Tata sky is showing.Dish tv is fraud.
I really wish if thr was a exchange option of giving back ur old stb ( set top box )n taking a HD stb.It is pointless wasting money on purchasing stb's.
"The one with DVR is priced at Rs. 3,990 while the one without recording capabilities (but all other feature included) can be purchased for Rs. 2,490."
D2h's product list does not feature the HD box without DVR.
Is is available in the market too?
