Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9003 is branded for India as Galaxy S LCD 4GB but elsewhere it is available as Galaxy SL (16GB version). Personally, I would call it a toned down substitute of Galaxy S I9000. It indeed was surprising to see this version out so late and almost a year after the launch of Galaxy S I9000 handset. Had the handset arrived alongside or at least three months after the GT-I9000 launch, it would have made more sense and would have sold more.

Samsung has introduced this new Galaxy S LCD 4GB loaded with Android 2.2.1 Froyo by default. Despite clear technical differences between this handset and the Galaxy S I9000, people can't help but compare both devices. Throughout the review, I would be referring it as GT-I9003 and the Galaxy S as GT-I9000, just to avoid confusion.

Currently, there's a dearth of Galaxy S I9000 handsets and the shortage of Super AMOLED displays has been cited as the main reason behind this. Obviously, Samsung has moved on to the new Super AMOLED Plus technology that is better and has been used in upcoming handset - Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100.

In the absence of GT-I9000, you'd certainly like to know about an Android device that looks almost the same and is packed with a few new goodies in it. Before you get to know how Galaxy S LCD performs, take a look at the differences between both the phones.

From the above table, it is clear that Galaxy S LCD would stay behind a bit in terms of graphic and processing performance. Both smartphones have processors running at the clock speed of 1GHz but due to different manufacturing design differences, there could be a marginal variation in their performance. The TI OMAP 3630 CPU is the same which has been used in the Motorola Droid X.

from last 1 year i m using nokia 7230 phone and with the help of nokia pc suit i a using internet on my laptop with usb cable. Recently i bought samsung galaxy s i9003 and with tht i got samsung kies. Samsung kies doesnt have option to connect to internet can any body guide me how can i use internet on my laptop with usb cable and samsung pc suit........... guys i dnt want to use wifi feature of this.....

When using wi-fi the battery discharge within 90 minutes, you have to charge your cell very frequently ... big disadvantage

i have the solution for that u asked thing.. that is u need to on ur 3G. to do that u must go to setting> wirless and network setting>mobile network setting>mobile networks and select WCDMA. now u can make video call. .befor that u find there have 3G coverage in ur area......

Hi, I am unable to hear the other persons voice when doing a video call. I am sure it is not the problem of the microphone as, it works fine when i make a normal call

hi i have a GT-I9003 phone and a friend of mine has a I9000. i think the diferrence between CPU's is greatly considerable and unfortunatly the GPS is completely unreliable. but i should say that i really prefer the super clear LCD to AMOLED!!! but in fact i should clearly suggest GT-I9000. Good luk every one where ever U R :)

Lousy phone, don't buy! I bought it 4 month ago and spoilt for 2 time! they let me changed for a brand new but same model last month but recently it kept freeze or 'hang' n finished up battery quickly! Damn no confidence on Samsung !

I bought a GT-19003 just yesterday and it's already acting up. I have had at leadt 3 occurences of it hanging by now and right now, it's not even starting. I press the strart button and it just gets stuck in the initial welcome screen. I am also finding that for a long time now, the handset is very hot. Not sure what I should do. Do I go back to the vendor and return it?

Hi im using galaxy s gt-I9003 umm my problem with this phone is that when u rotate the phone while playing a video many times the screen go blank but there's still sound. I have to restart my phone just to fix it. What could be the reason. Pls help if anyone know anything about this problem.

The GPS of this device is extremely weak. The performance is so weak, that is it practically unusable (it's always faster to ask for directions than to wait for the phone) It's really frustrating, and I'm extremely disappointed by the device.
