    This camera tries to bring you the best of both worlds

    Good JPEG image quality even in dark conditions, large LCD screen with easy icon-based UI, 720p HD video with stereo sound capture, mechanical zoom and focusing rings, HDR and focus bracketing

    RAW image quality could have been better, no optical viewfinder, slow shot-to-shot speed, not really compact, almost all controls inside menu and very little outside, expensive

Micro Four Third cameras have been garnering a lot of attention of late, especially from the digital camera manufacturers. These cameras boast of DSLR-like features and image quality, and come with interchangeable lenses, but are lightweight. They share image sensor size and specifications with Four Third system DSLRs, but do not employ pentaprisms for the sake of compactness, thus sacrificing flange focal distance.

The Sony NEX-3 is one such camera. Boasting of promising features and performance, this 14 MP camera with large barrel removable lens, with manual zoom and focus rings, can also capture images in RAW format. Thanks to support up to ISO 128000 due to its large Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, low-light photography is very much possible. And it also supports 720p HD video capture at 29.97 fps with stereo sound. While the bundle is good, it would have been better to include an HDMI cable to connect to an HDTV. Also, you may find yourself running out of space with the 4GB card, especially while recording HD videos.

Maybe you didn't get the memo, but Sony is stopping production on this model in favour of nex-5 :P People who want to buy it though can go ahead, the lens kits from nex-5 should be compatible with 3

The nex-3 and nex-5 have the same exact lens mount, they use the same lenses

is it worth to buy? which one nex3 or 5? i want it for serious photography purpose.........then u suggest this model?

what you mean by serious?,If U mean professional please go for "CANON",and U R really serious go for NIKON. Sony,Panasonic,Samsung,Kodak etc....are not recommended for serious photographers with a strong wallet..
