Lenovo has launched the newest range of ThinkPads based on Intel s new Sandy Bridge processors, including the T420s, which is a lightweight notebook boasting of a battery life of up to 30 hours, according to a report. The other models revealed by Lenovo are L420, T420, T520, L520 and W520, with each one sporting better power management and voice calling features boosted by dual array microphones and keyboard noise reduction technology. The boosted battery life has a catch, though; it is achieved with an extended battery pack and not with the batteries that come with the batteries that come with the laptop by default.

Adding to its portability, the T420s is considerably lightweight at just 1.8 kg. It has a HD LED display with a resolution of 1600x900, thus capable of playing 720p videos without downsizing them. It features switchable graphics, which is also partly responsible for the better battery life. A 720p webcam lets you do video conferencing or video chat. On the audio front, this laptop features Dolby Home Theatre v4 sound for a good audio experience.

Lenovo plans to introduce the T420s in the UK in March this year with a price tag of around GBP 1100. Availability elsewhere, including in India, will be announced later.
