Microsoft will roll out the first major update to Windows Phone 7 (WP7) in March this year. According to a report, the previously speculated date for this update of 7 February, has been pushed to 8 March. The delay was supposedly due to last minute changes by Microsoft and phone manufacturers and the testing period of two or three weeks that is generally required.
Just like service packs for its desktop Windows operating systems, this update will fix a number of bugs in the first release of WP7. The update will fix the most blatant omissions in the mobile OS it will finally bring support for copy and paste. Performance is also expected to improve and there will be support for CDMA coming in. With Mobile World Congress (MWC) coming up next week, this announcement will probably be made by Microsoft in Barcelona, where CEO, Steve Ballmer is slated to give a keynote.
I wish they include the following in the new update:
1- Arabic language support with RTL
2- I wish they make 3 columns of smaller tiles instead of 2 large columns in the home screen, it will surely look amassing.
The recent user interface started to get dull and boring with half the screen wasted. We like to be able to customize the home screen the way we like it. We also like to sync our contacts with outlook (offline). I also like to see more themes with more colors and transparency.
Thank you
