The purpose of an MFD is to reduce the effective cost of usage and also investment - you get the function of a printer, scanner, copier and sometimes stand-alone fax too in a single device. While the cost issue is tackled successfully, it is now the cost of printing that has been targeted by HP in their new all-in-one device - HP DeskJet 1050.

Meant for home and entry-level SoHo users, this inkjet MFD aims to provide you with the lowest cost per page because the cartridge is one of the least expensive inkjet cartridges available. We have the HP DeskJet 1050 with us today and will try to find out if the quality is maintained while cutting the cost.

HP deskjet 1050

  • HP Deskjet 1050
  • Black cartridge and tri-color cartridge
  • Power adapter with cable
  • USB data cable
  • Quick start guide
  • Basics guide
  • Software and drivers disc

This MFD came in securely packaged with all the necessary steps taken to render all moving parts immovable, as this makes it less prone to damage while being transported. As is traditional with HP, the printer came with every bit of accessory that is required, along with a good manual.

I brought this horrible printer few months ago. This model has a major glitch, it can’t print full A4 size paper (standard form or document), 1 or 2 line near footer is always missing. I returned it to the computer shop and they gave it to service center. Service Center did nothing but emptied the cartridge. Computer shop people checked another new printer with same model no and find same problem. They told me that this particular model has problem and they(HP) can’t replace it with another model also refused to give me a new cartridge. DON’T BUY THIS PRINTER. Go for Canon or Epson

Hi, Thought of buying HP1050 deskject one and asked the dealer for delivery, but while testing i found the same problem it does not print and xerox the full A4 size , either extreme above or below lines will be cut always. I tested with electricity bill and BSNL bill where you will find full use of A4 size. Hence found the problem and refued to buy it. So , do not buy it it has design fault. You can test it by writing your name at top and bottom of the A4 size paper and take zerox , it will prove that this printer has design problem , it never print /copy full a4 size. So be careful... Thanks Shibaprasad for your suggestion becasuse of you i tested and found the problem.

If looking for all in ones, definitely try out the Epson L200. It has fast ink top up technology. Also peace of mind is guaranteed with Epson.

I feel Epson T13 would be a better option.
