After months of rumors and speculations, Apple and Verizon together
announced CDMA version of new iPhone 4 via Verizon Wireless for US region. Yesterday we got the heads up about the CDMA iPhone 4 launch and finally the device has been made public officially. Physically there's no visible change between the CDMA version of iPhone 4 and the GSM version. Both iPhone 4 models are available at same prices as that of GSM phones - 16GB for $200 and 32GB for $300, with two year contract.
Apple has finally set a foot into CDMA segment that has been debated to be gradually dying network technology. In partnership with Verizon, Apple aims to increase iPhone 4 sales. In terms of physical characteristics, there's a slight changed in the antenna notches. Instead of two in GSM version the iPhone 4 CDMA version has four antenna rims attaching the front and back panel glass together.
Technically it's just like the same GSM version of iPhone 4 with high-resolution Retina Display, 5 megapixel camera with LED Flash, HD Video recording, 3-axis gyroscopic sensor, and front facing camera for FaceTime.
Thankfully, the CDMA version of iPhone 4 doesn't come with any pre-installed Verizon software and doesn't even bear Verizon logo. Verizon version of iPhone 4 has Personal Hotspot capabilities that lets user to connect up to five Wi-Fi devices. As of now, we don't know whether Personal Hotspot capability would be limited to CDMA version of iPhone 4 or would be available to other devices as well. Engadget's Joshua Topolsky got lucky to get the iPhone 4 hands-on and stated that the iPhone 4 CDMA version was running iOS 4.2.5 version.

We did hear the buzz about unlimited data plans from Verizon however the cellular company hasn't announced any plans as yet. Qualified Verizon Wireless customers would get exclusive CDMA iPhone 4 pre-order opportunity on February 3 before it becomes available to public on February 10.
