    Videocon VRL32HBM

Roydon Cerejo, Nov 25, 2010 1224 hrs IST

An entry-level HD TV with a decent feature set

Two USB ports with DivX support, attractive design, speakers are loud with decent depth in sound, good for cable TV viewing

Dumb remote design, poor HD performance, USB interface could be better

After being disappointed with the Philips 32PFL3305/V7 that we reviewed recently, we now turn our attention to the Videocon VRL32HBM entry level HD TV. The 'HD Ready' television has features similar to the Philips TV like a 1366x768 resolution and it's also placed in the same price bracket.

However, the Videocon has a couple of extra features not found in the Philips, like three  HDMI ports instead of two, and two USB ports instead of one, which also supports DivX. Look a little closer and you'll find speakers tucked into the bottom and rear of the TV. Also, there are more options for image adjustment and noise reduction unlike the Philips. This could very well be a better performer and certainly has more value, especially with a lower MRP tag. Let's find out if it actually is.

Bundle

Videocon includes a wall mounting bracket with the TV but they left out the stand in our review sample. Luckily the TV can be placed as a large photo frame on the desk but you will block the bottom firing speakers.

Why don't you guys put up the price in the headline itself? It shows you insecurities with the readership when you want to bury it on last or second last page.

HD Ready TV for 29,990 is pretty expensive. i'd pefer low end HD Ready TV's like Llyod, NOC or moeserber which are priced less than 20K. BTW, can you please review any of these low end HD Ready TV.
