Black Ops Gets First PC Patch

After the first multiplayer centric patch on Steam, Activision's hottest selling game this year, Call of Duty: Black Ops was issued with its first patch for the single player campaign. It's about time too, since many gamers, me included, have reported framerate issues. These performance drops were blamed on lack of CPU optimisation, which the patch addresses with better support for dual and quad core CPUs.
The steam update also includes a second multiplayer patch that fixes the server browser to allow quicker list population and prevents it from refreshing too often. Also improved are the matchmaking system in the Zombie game and some Steam interface relate bugs. This comes as good news for those who had been waiting for the first patch before starting the game, because the performance issues forced many to play the game at a lower resolution to maintain 60+ fps, which are quite imperative for headshots.
