Android-powered PlayStation gaming Phone may be on the horizon
While Sony has maintained its official stance towards the leaked PlayStation Phone by declining to either confirm or refute the claims that the PlayStation Phone does exist, by refusing to comment on "rumors and speculations," a senior Sony executive has dropped some hints, and boy are they going to set your imagination racing towards some happy speculations?

In a recent interview on CNN, Sony's senior vice president of marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment of America Peter Dille seems to have said a few things and proponents of such a device will be happy to learn that they are optimistic. Dille stated that the main reason behind PSP's failure is the lack of an always on connection. He said, "The PSP is a Wi-Fi device. People are used to having always-connected devices." Explaining Sony's vision of the PlayStation Network to be an always accessible entertainment centerpiece, he added, "I don't think we fully realize that vision with a Wi-Fi device. If it's not connected then it does sort of limit people."
Speculators interpret that Dille actually may indeed have meant "connected to cellular networks" here. When asked about whether he sees Android's gaming marketplace as a competitor or potential partner, Dille declined to comment. But a Sony spokeswoman present during the CNN chat stated later, "We have working relationships with Google". Indeed, it would make sense that the rumored PlayStation Phone would be running on Google's popular Android OS, which makes sense right now.
