    Nvidia GT 430 Review

Roydon Cerejo, Oct 19, 2010 1735 hrs IST

ZOTAC and Galaxy fight it out to the finish line

Supports HDMI 1.4a (Blu-ray 3D), low power consumption, silent operation, CUDA and PhysX support, good for HTPC systems

Poor gaming performance for the price, no SLI support

Design

Both cards deviate from the puny reference design and adopt a square PCB. The heatsink covers the RAM chips but doesn't cool them, as it never really touches them. The entire block is cooled by a tiny fan; it looks like it should get the job done, since these cards don't heat up that much, at least we hope they don't.

The bottom part of the card is bare with just a couple of heatsink retention screws visible.

The ports include a DVI-I, DP and HDMI 1.4a. The DP is a nice addition but I'm not sure it's going to be of much use.

Roydon, They don't appear to be low profile cards. I doubt they would then fit in HTPC cabinets.

I would go for the Galaxy card as it consumes less power and will last longer since it runs cooler due to the large heat sink. If I would want to race it with the Zotac, I can easily do it using the Xtremetuner app from Galaxy and achieve better results.
