Nvidia 3D Vision enabled with active shutter 3D glasses
With everyone and their uncle releasing 3D enabled devices, Toshiba has introduced 3D enabled Satellite A660-X5310. It promises 3D support for games and movies with the bundled 3D glasses and also support for converting 2D content into 3D. The latter feature, although, will be available as a download shortly at no extra cost.
Priced at Rs. 80,837, the laptop is armed to the teeth with a Core i5-560M processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTS 350M with 1GB DDR3 discrete graphics memory to allow gaming at decent framerates. Its main USP is a 120Hz 15.6-inch LED backlit display with 120Hz scan rate, paired with the Nvidia 3D Vision kit with active shutter 3D glasses. Also included is Nvidia 3DTV Play software that enables 3D output on a 3D-ready TV. The audio department includes Sound Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio. The laptop also supports video upscaling support for your DVD collection.
The product is backed by a one year limited warranty, which is international, so it's good news for the ones planning to import. I personally don't see any sense including 3D technology in a portable device - honestly, how many of you will risk curious glances from onlookers when you wear the 3D goggles in public? The Satellite A660-X5310 is targeted primarily towards laptop gamers. If you subscribe to the laptop gaming niche, this might interest you.
