    NEC NP510W Projector

Superior than its predecessor but way too expensive

Plenty of connectors, network support, lightweight, auto keystone correction, good picture quality

Gets hot, no card reader, pricey

NEC has updated the NP500 that we reviewed last year and replaced that with the new NP510 series. This new model boasts a higher native resolution of 1280x800 pixels and a new Carbon Meter that kicks in on Eco mode to show you how much less CO2 you're using. The rest of the features remain pretty much the same like a brightness level of 3000 lumens, 500:1 contrast ratio, 3LCD technology and the ability to control the projector over the network, thanks to the built-in LAN jack. Next let's take a look at the bundle and see what else has changed.

Bundle

  • Carrying case
  • Remote Control
  • Power cord
  • VGA Cable (D-Sub)
  • User manual (on CD)
  • Quick Start Guide
  • DVI-VGA adapter
