As of late, Viewsonic has disappeared from the LCD monitor market when it comes to large panels. Smaller sized monitors can still be found in abundance but when you look at 24-inchers and above, we normally tend to look at Dell since they are the only company right now that offers plenty of options in different sizes. So when Viewsonic sent across their new arrival, we weren't exactly jumping up and down in excitement.

The VX2739wm is the first 27-incher to come with a 1ms response time. It sports a full HD resolution which seems a bit low for a screen of this size. Other features includes HDMI, 4 USB ports, headphone out jack, SRS powered speakers. It also has an Eco mode that's said to save up to 35% energy, which we'll surely test and verify.
Even though this is lit by LEDs, the monitor is fairly slim and looks stylish. The design is a bit different and it looks modern and fresh compared to the older offerings.

Bundle

  • Driver CD
  • Power cord
  • DVI cable
  • VGA cable
  • Audio cable
  • USB cable

Design

The bezel is slim and has a full glossy finish. There is a power button in the center with a subtle blue LED that's not distracting.

All the buttons are placed on the right side with the labels facing front. Also on the side are two USB ports and the headphone jack. These ports are recessed quite a bit making it difficult to insert a pen drive without turning the monitor around.

The input ports include, VGA, DVI, HDMI, Audio-in jack, USB upstream port and two USB ports.

This is a great monitor except for the price in India. The same monitor is available for $300 in US including shipping, which is like Rs 13,570 in INR. So we are being ripped off of almost Rs.4K+ by Viewsonic. Come on Viewsonic don't you want to be the market leader in India. This offering can do it for you but for the price.
