Motorola's recently launched Android handset, the Droid X, has finally received an update to Android 2.2 (Froyo). The update, which arrived in an Over the Air form, adds a host of improvements and feature additions to the handset which was on Android 2.1 earlier.
Users of the Droid X have been receiving notifications regarding the availability of the update in the status bar. If you are one of those who haven't yet received such notifications, you might want to do a manual check.
As for the new features and fixes, the phone gets a better visual voicemail, better connectivity when transitioning to a 3G to Wi-Fi networks. This is apart from the major improvements that Froyo brings with it - including things like support for Flash in the browser, Microsoft Exchange support and better JavaScript support - just to name a few.
That said, we wonder if Motorola has a GSM version of the phone up their sleeves any time soon. The Droid X, as you might be aware, is a Verizon USA exclusive for the time being.
I dont understand y do techtree post DriodX information...Its of no use for Indian consumer. Its a CDMA mobile with verizon in US...Y do we bother about it at all.
The "Droid"name is copyrighted by Verizon. So any phone in this series should be named as Milestone in GSM.
May be milestone 2 that leaked sometime before
