Microsoft will launch the Office productivity suite for Mac on October 26
Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit has announced that the Office for Mac 2011 productivity suite has hit the 'Release to Manufacture' phase. This means that Office for Mac 2011 suite has been sent for final testing and will hit production floors for replication. Microsoft had confirmed the release of this Office suite for Apple's Mac OS X platform on October 26, as per Amazon listings.
New Office for Mac 2011 would improve compatibility, team collaboration and provide better user interface experience on the Mac OS X. As reported earlier, the Office for Mac 2011 would be released only in 32-bit versions. The Office productivity suite for Mac users would be launched in two editions - Office Mac Home and Student 2011 and Office Mac Home and Business 2011.
Amazon has already listed that these two Office for Mac 2011 versions will be available from October 26. Do note that Microsoft's Professional Developer Conference 2010 (PDC10) is schedule to start from October 28. So, it's likely Microsoft will share more details about the Office for Mac 2011.
