Would make them faster as well!

If you have even been a casual observer of the evolution of electronic gadgets over the past few years, you might have observed a trend. They are becoming smaller (and slimmer) with each update. Almost every "update" to a product make them smaller - while at the same time, adds more features than ever before.

With the rate these products are being updated, there would soon come a day when you can't shrink a gadget any further. That's if we talk about gadgets that are made using current technologies.

Scientists who were on the lookout to make transistors (used in most gadgets of today) even smaller have developed a new method that could, in the future, result in amazingly slim devices. These graphene-based transistors, when used in the manufacturing of future gadgets, would enable them to be slimmer, lighter and more importantly, faster than they have ever been so far. This amazing ability of Graphene is due to its characteristic of having the highest known carrier mobility.

Graphene based gadgets of the future would not only be way faster than their current counterparts, but would also be way smaller. Now, we're wondering if you'd fancy a mobile phone that's only as big as a memory card!? Do you think gadgets should shrink beyond a certain limit? Leave us a comment and let us know your views.

Shrinking of certain components i.e. GPU cores for faster integrated graphics, processor cores for faster processors, volatile memory for faster RAM, flash memory for say SD card sized terabyte flash storage etc are highly desirable and required if technology has to progress. However, shrinking of physical dimensions reaches a sweet spot where further shrinking of the device is bad rather than good for the device. I for one can't stand some of the slim phones and slim cameras out there. One needs to be able to properly hold a device to use it.

ya they should become more slimmer and fast to meet the future needs but only in some cases not all the gadgets should become slimmer

shrinking size of gadgets below a usable limit is no no. fancy using a memory card size cell phone.
