Members of XDA-Developers forum are widely known to be folks who are pure geniuses when it comes to spotting new ROMs (be it Android or earlier, Windows Mobile). In yet another such instance, they have come across a new ROM for Google's Nexus One.
While the Nexus One already has seen an update to Froyo (Android 2.2), folks over at XDA-Developers have come across a new build of Froyo with build number FRG33. This update packs in a few bug fixes and a couple of new feature additions. The versions of some of the applications in the current latest build are also seen to be newer in this leaked version.
The G in the version of the ROM (FRG33) was first thought to stand for Gingerbread. However, once the files were unpacked, it as clear that the FRG33 was just an update to Froyo.
With the ROM already being used by some folks, reports of an improvement in the Wi-Fi response are already flying in. If you are the kind who do not mind taking a look in the wild side (with all the risks involved) head
here for instructions on installing this on your Nexus One. Be warned that this installation does cause issues with accessing Android Market. There's a fix however,
here.
Lastly, before flashing, always remember that you're doing this at your own risk!
