Apple's most popular product, the iPod touch has undergone a major upgrade. For starters the new iPod touch is thinner than before (7.2mm vs. 8.5mm). Apple has also added the Retina display that was so far exclusive to the iPhone 4. It has four times the resolution of the previous generation iPod touches. Apple has also put in their A4 processor, which first debuted on the iPad and then on the iPhone 4.

Another major addition is the presence of a front video camera, which can be used to make FaceTime calls with other iPod touch and iPhone 4 owners over Wi-Fi. The new touch also has a camera at the back which can record 720p HD videos. You can download iMovie on the touch and edit you videos on the device itself.

Other additions include a 3-axis gyroscope to improve the gaming experience on the touch. The new touch will also come with iOS 4.1 update, which will bring with it Game Center.


The new iPod touch will have a battery life of 40 hours for audio playback and 7 hours of video playback. It will be available in 8GB, 32GB and 64GB and will be priced at $229, $299 and $399 in the US respectively.

Hey Natasha. The iPod Touch 8GB won't be here for 13K. It'll be for around 15-16K. This is mainly because of high import rates and stuff. It's better you buy it from Abroad if possible. You get to write your name or whatever you want on the back! :P I got my iPod touch last year, it's got my name and Man Utd written on the back! :D

watched the whole thing live on my iPod touch.. watching the new iPod touch on my 2g iPod touch made me feel like crying. I so want this thing.. Hoping it comes to India soon else will have to buy it off grey.. Anyways, it isnt a surprise. Release of iPhone basically tells what's going to be in the next touch.. But really shocked at the nano.. Glad that I gifted my sister the last gen on her bday!

but the cam on this thing sucks.. the rear cam that is.. For me, I dont often make videos but all the time am taking snaps.. well, it clicks stills but in 960*740 res, that's 0.7MP for you. feeling so bad.. but MPs aren't everything. Well, something is better than nothing!
