Samsung has quietly announced a lower end alternative to the Samsung Wave. Known as the Wave S723, the phone comes with a 3.2-inch TFT-LCD display (unlike the Super AMOLED screen of the S8500 Wave)and a host of other interesting features.
The announcement of the Wave 723 comes soon after the news regarding the sale of over a million Galaxy S phones was revealed. The S723 is based on the bada SDK 1.1 and is pretty good at the multimedia scheme of things a Bada OS forte'. It has a 5 mega-pixel camera with LED Flash at the rear. The camera also features geo-tagging and has an built in image editor as well. Other features include support for Bluetooth v3.0 (EDR), USB v2.0 support, wireless connectivity with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and 90MB internal memory expandable up to 16GB with microSD card.
The S723 also has the TouchWiz 3.0 running atop the OS and supports multi-touch as well. The phone is powered by a 1200mAh Li-Ion battery.
The Wave 723 is scheduled to be made available in Germany starting September 2010 and would be seen in other European markets soon after. Pricing and other details are yet to be revealed.
